Congratulations! SFL Professor Peng Qinglong Receives Major Research Project Grant from Shanghai Philosophy and Social Sciences Plannning

The project "Research on the Construction of an Autonomous Knowledge System of Regional and Country Studies in China" led by Professor Peng Qinglong from the School of Foreign Languages at Shanghai Jiao Tong University has been approved as a major research project of the Shanghai Philosophy and Social Sciences Planning, according to the Shanghai Social Sciences Planning Office. This project is part of a series of projects inititated by Shanghai to implement the Central Committee's Action Plan for Accelerating the Construction of an Independent Knowledge System in Chinese Philosophy and Social Sciences. It aims to advance the development of an indepedent Chinese knowledge system across various academic disciplines, integrating Chinese moderination with Shanghai's reform and innovation practices. 

 

Professor Peng Qinglong
Director of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Academy for International and Regional Studies, Distinguished Professor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Distinguished Professor of the National Major Talent Program of the Ministry of Educaiton, Teaching master of the "Ten Thousand Talents Plan" of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Shanghai Jiao Tong University ( Philosophy and Social Sciences Edition), the founding Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of New Techno-Humanities. He also serves as Member of the Foreign Language and Literature Discipline Review Panel of the Seventh and Eighth Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, a member of the English Teaching Steering Subcommittee of the Teaching Steering Committee of Foreign Languages of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education, head of the Science and Engineering Colleges Group, the president of the Comparativev Literature and Cross-cultural Studies Branch of the Chinese Society of Foreign Literature, the chief expert in charge of a National Social Science Foundation major project. His main research areas include Australian literature, comparative literature, English education and teaching, and techno-humanities. His teaching achievements earned him the Second Prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award in Higher Education. His research accomplishements have been honored with over ten provincial and ministerial-level awards, including the Second Prize of the Ministry of Education's Outstnading Scientific Research Achievement Award(Humanities and Social Sciences) on two occasions.
