Great news! Contemporary Foreign Language Studies Makes the list of CSSCI Source Journals (2025-2026)
Recently, the Center for Chinese Social Science Research Evaluation of Nanjing University officially released the "List of CSSCI (Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index) Source Journals (2025-2026)". Contemporary Foreign Language Studies, an academic journal sponsored by the School of Foreign Languages of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, made the list.
Contemporary Foreign Language Studies, formerly known as Science and Technology English Learning, was founded in 1980. In 2010, with the approval of the authorities, it was renamed to its current title, with Professor Yang Feng as its current editor-in-chief. The journal focuses on in-depth research and academic exchanges in the field of foreign languages. It adheres to the editorial philosophy of "the mutual illumination of thought and academia, and the mutual primacy of national consciousness and international perspective", upholds high academic standards, and pays attention to the frontiers and innovations of foreign language disciplines. The Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index (CSSCI) is developed and produced by the Center for Chinese Social Sciences Evaluation of Nanjing University. It mainly collects all source journals (serials) and all source and citation information. It is an important retrieval, analysis and academic evaluation tool for China's humanities and social sciences research, and is also recognized as the most authoritative journal evaluation system in China. The inclusion of Contemporary Foreign Language Studies in the Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index (CSSCI) is a landmark and historic breakthrough in the development of foreign language discipline of the School of Foreign Languages.
