The SFL Faculty Meeting for 2025 Spring and Summer Semesters Held

The SFL Faculty Meeting for 2025 Spring and Summer Semesters was held on July 16th in the 300-seat lecture hall of the Yang Wing Man Building. The meeting reviewed and summarized the key work of this semester and planned for future development. All faculty and staff attended the meeting, which was chaired by Zhu Yifan, the Party Secretary of the School of Foreign Languages. 

 

 


Work Summary and Future Outlook

 


Shang Biwu, the dean of the School of Foreign Languages, summarized the work of the school in the spring and summer semesters of 2025 in terms of Party building, faculty development, scientific research, teaching reform, talent cultivation, and international exchanges. At the same time, in response to the major strategic needs of the country and the requirements of social development, and in conjunction with the formulation of the SFL's "15th Five-Year Plan", the SFL will strengthen top-level design and comprehensively plan forward-looking research directions such as language acquisition, language disorders, mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations and cross-cultural communication, and regional and country-specific studies. It is committed to cultivating forward-looking and innovative foreign language talents and striving for the realization of the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and Chinese-style modernization. 
Zhu Yifan announced the appointments of the cadres of the SFL for this semester. Jiang Yan was appointed as the director of the Undergraduate Public English Teaching Center, Zhang Ruining as the director of the Administrative Office, and Jin Jing as the assistant to the dean of the SFL. 

 

Welcome to the new faculty and staff
At the meeting, the arrival of the new faculty and staff was warmly welcomed. The new faculty members, Professor Li Chengchen, Assistant Professor Zhao Siqi, and Assistant Professor Zang Xiaomeng, respectively introduced themselves. 


Summer Safety Reminders
Zhu Yifan reminded everyone of the safety matters for the summer of 2025, emphasizing the need to strengthen the safety defense line, establish a bottom-line mindset, and enhance risk awareness, and to implement all tasks with higher standards, stricter requirements, and more practical measures.
