15 Cutting-edge Research Topics Spark Ideas!
The Linguistics Luncheon of the School of Foreign Languages of Shanghai Jiao Tong University for the Fall Semester of 2024 came to an end on January 3, 2025. A total of 15 wonderful academic presentations were successfully held in this semester. From linguistic theory to empirical analysis to big data-driven language models, the presentations covers multiple research areas such as semantic reference and grammar research, first and second language acquisition, online language processing, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and language teaching and sociolinguistics. These original research projects demonstrate the profound strength and innovative achievements of the SFL teachers and students in linguistics research.
Since its launch in 2021, the Linguistics Luncheon has successfully held 68 presentations, becoming an important platform for the academic exchange of linguistics between faculty and students at noon every Thursday, and attracting many scholars both on and off the campus. Here, the research of different language schools collides with each other, and the theoretical and empirical research intertwines the sparks of thought, injecting a steady stream of vitality and inspiration into the academic exploration of linguistics.
