On the afternoon of April 17, Shen Liang, director of the Foreign Affairs Division of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shanghai Municiple People's Government, and second-level inspector, delivered a lecture with the theme of "Practice and Exploration of telling Chinese stories well" as the second lecture of Yuanji Forum in the School of Foreign Languages of SJTU, analyzing the methods and strategies of telling Chinese stories well. Shen Liang analyzed the methods and strategies of how to tell Chinese stories well from three perspectives. He said that to tell Chinese stories well one should focus on the regional environment and social environment of Shanghai, take traditional Chinese culture and current development as the driving force, give full play to the "big power" of "Nobody", and show the world a real, three-dimensional and comprehensive China. At the same time, one should integrate domestic and international communication, so that one can impress the foreign friends in China with China's excellent social morale, upbeat social atmosphere and pragmatic social actions, and who will then become an organic force to tell Chinese stories, and who will become actively involved in telling Chinese stories.

In the interaction session, the teachers and students raised some questions on the international communication, and science and technology communication with the school as the main body. Shen Liang responded one by one. He stressed the importance and significance of telling Chinese stories well, the challenges and opportunities of telling Chinese stories well, and improving the ability and level of telling Chinese stories well, extending the importance of cultural exchanges, rapid development of media technology, innovative thinking and cross-border cooperation in the context of globalization.
