On November 30, 2022, the online communication meeting between the School of Foreign Languages and Kansai Gakuin University of Japan was warmly held, with enthusiasm and laughter in the air.  The meeting was hosted by Mr. Ryohei Watanabe from the Japanese Department.

First of all, Mr. Lin Zibo, teacher representative from the Japanese Department of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, made the opening speech. Lin recalled the scene when a few years ago he had an offline discussion with teachers and students of Kansai Gakuin University.

Then the two sides began the ice-breaking discussion on a number of issues of mutual interest. Wang Ziyue , from Grade 2020, introduced the Chinese food "hot pot", which was illustrated and easy to understand, and it quickly shortened the distance. In the main part of the exchange meeting, the two sides had a heated discussion on the proposed topics. The topic proposed by the Department of Japanese of Shanghai Jiao Tong University was "the post-graduation planning of Chinese University students". Before the conference, the students of Grade 2020 of the Department of Japanese conducted a relatively substantial survey. During the exchange, the two sides carried out a heated discussion and fully exchanged views. The topic proposed by the Japanese side was "On Japan's future through measures to solve social problems", which was also fully discussed.

Finally, Shiura Kai, the assistant to the president of Kansai Gakuin University, gave a concluding speech. He hoped that this meeting could be a bridge linking China and Japan and deepen the correct understanding of each other. What he said were unanimously approved by the teachers and students present.

The two-hour exchange was not only a collision of academic ideas, but also a distillation of the friendship between China and Japan and the friendship between Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Kansai Gakuin University. Against the influence of the epidemic, this exchange meeting proved particularly precious.
