Multidimensional Cooperation Programs Launched between School of Foreign Languages, SJTU and University of Liverpool

The School of Foreign Languages at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) has recently signed a cooperation agreement with the Department of Languages, Culture and Film at the University of Liverpool, UK. Joint education programs are introduced, including the 3+1 Bachelor-Master Dual Degree, 4+1 Bachelor-Master Direct Pathway, and 1+1+0.5 Dual Master’s Degree schemes. These programs are tailored to students’ academic development needs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, creating a streamlined and efficient platform for global academic growth.

3+1 Bachelor-Master Dual Degree Program

Study Pathway

Upon completion of the first three years of relevant undergraduate English major studies at the School of Foreign Languages, SJTU, and meeting the progression criteria, students may apply for the MA Chinese English Translation and Interpretation at the University of Liverpool. After one year of master’s study in the UK and fulfilment of bachelor’s graduation requirements at SJTU and master’s graduation requirements at the University of Liverpool, students will be awarded a bachelor’s degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and a master’s degree from the University of Liverpool.

4+1 Bachelor-Master Direct Pathway Program

 Study Pathway

After completing four years of undergraduate studies and obtaining a relevant bachelor’s degree at the School of Foreign Languages, SJTU, students may apply for a corresponding master’s program at the University of Liverpool. Following one year of master’s study in the UK and meeting the master’s graduation requirements of the University of Liverpool, students will be awarded a master’s degree from the University of Liverpool.

 1+1+0.5 Dual Master’s Degree Program

Study Pathway

After completing the first year of relevant postgraduate studies at the School of Foreign Languages, SJTU, students may apply for a corresponding master’s program at the University of Liverpool. Following one year of master’s study in the UK, students will return to SJTU to complete an additional six months of postgraduate coursework. Students who meet the master’s graduation requirements of both Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the University of Liverpool will receive master’s degrees conferred by both institutions respectively.

Admission Process

Following review of application materials, the University of Liverpool will contact applicants to guide them through subsequent procedures.

Scholarships

A 10% reduction on the University of Liverpool’s standard annual overseas tuition fee will be offered to applicants of these programs. If combined with other scholarships or bursaries, the total tuition discount shall not exceed 50% of the tuition fee.
