Yang Bingjun

Professor Bingjun Yang began to supervise doctoral students in linguistics in 2008, was selected to be supported by the program of New Century Excellent Talents in University by China Ministry of Education, and won the second prize of National Award for Teaching Achievements and the second prize of Best Teacher Award by Fok Ying Tong Education Foundation. Now he is the executive member for China Association of Functional Linguistics, China Association of English Education, and China Association of Cognitive Poetics. He also serves as the anonymous reviewer for several academic journals, some of which are indexed by SSCI and A&HCI, and lectures as adjunct professor at Sun Yat-sen University, Southwest Forestry University, and Dali University.

Professor Yang's research interests include functional syntax, doctor-patient discourse, narrative discourse, and interdisciplinary research in functional linguistics and translation theory. He has single-authored, co-authored or translated 11 academic books, and published more than 50 academic articles on international journals (i.e., Language Sciences, Australian Journal of Linguistics, Social Behavior and Personality, Journal of Personality Disorders, English Language Teaching) and national journals (e.g., Foreign Language Teaching and Research, Journal of Foreign Languages, Modern Foreign Language, Translation Quarterly by The Hong Kong Translation Society).

He has co-edited Discourse, Language Functions and Language Teaching (Proceedings of the National Conference on Discourse Analysis, Sun Yat-sen University Press, 2002) and Discourse and Language Functions (Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, 2002). His single-authored books include Academic Writing Course for Postgraduates (Fudan University Press, 2009) and A Study of Non-finite Clauses in English: A Systemic Functional Approach (Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, 2003).
