The US Educational Testing Service (ETS) is the world's largest institution of educational testing, comprising a research and administrative staff of 2,200 and offering 800 educational tests. The two tests which are most familiar to Chinese learners of English are TOEFL and GRE. The international Testing Centre of the School of Foreign Languages of Shanghai Jiaotong University is authorized by CIECB to organize the TOEFL test in Shanghai. Annually, around 10,000 candidates take the test here. The Centre, with its excellent organization and administration, has provided a high quality service for the test and has won praise from the candidates and commendation from ETS and CIECB.
