Center for Multicultural Studies and Comparative Literature

The objective of the Center for Multicultural Studies and Comparative Literature is to study the richness and diversity of world literature and culture by conducting research across border, discipline and culture, and to share the fruits of civilization by promoting cultural exchanges. The Center is dedicated to academic research in the fields of literary and cultural theory, narratology, feminist literature, Chinese and foreign cultural relations, comparative literature, English literature, American literature, Australian literature, Canadian literature, Japanese literature, German literature, French literature, world literature, literary translation, cross-cultural communication, etc.

 

Center for Multicultural Studies and Comparative Literature is now staffed by 27 researchers, including 7 professors, 14 associate professors and 6 lecturers. Among them, 2 members are named on the list of the “New Century Excellent Talents in University” of Ministry of Education, and 1 selected as “Young Scholars in Changjiang (Yangtze River) Scholar Program”. Core members of the Center have participated in 2 National Social Science Fund Major Projects, 2 National Social Science Fund Youth Projects, 10 National Social Science Fund Projects, 3 Humanities and Social Science Projects of Ministry of Education, and 2 Shanghai Philosophy and Social Science Projects. The Center has published a number of monographs and more than 100 articles in important journals at home and abroad.
