王振华教授简介
Dr Wang Zhenhua is a full professor and PhD supervisor of School of Foreign Languages, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He founded The Martin Centre for Appliable Linguistics and acts as the executive director of the Centre. He is also the director of Post-doc Program of Linguistics and Literature Studies. He was the deputy Dean of Henan University (2004-2006). He was awarded the title of leading researcher by Henan Provincial Commission of Education. He is a vice president of China Association of Functional Linguistics, and a board director of China Association of Pragmatics.  He is the chief investigator of 2 national-funded research projects granted by The China National Planning Office of Philosophy and Social Science, and 3 provincial projects, and collaborated investigator of 5 research projects. Professor Wang (2003) set up his model of “3-voices” of Engagement and developed a framework of discourse semantics (2009): one paradigm, two strands, three meta-functions, four meta-semantics, and five aspects. Professor Wang (2012) also set up the “model of personalized meaning”. His research interests include systemic functional linguistics, discourse semantics, language and the law, courtroom discourse, language of evaluation, appraisal, personalized meaning, and genre-based pedagogy.
Kay O’Halloran教授简介
Professor Kay O’Halloran’s research field is multimodal discourse analysis, involving the study of the interaction of language with other resources (e.g. images, sound, gesture, movement, 3D objects and space) in multimodal texts, interactions and events. She established a research program in the Multimodal Analysis Lab at the National University of Singapore that involved developing new digital tools and techniques for the study of language and other resources in different media contexts. The outcomes included prototype software tools for multimodal analysis, modelling and visualisation techniques for interpreting high-dimensional multimodal data, and computational techniques for analysis of large multimodal datasets.  Professor Kay O’Halloran is research leader of the Multimodal Analysis Group at Curtin University (2013–present), where she has established a research program that aims to combine multimodal analysis with data mining and information visualisation for big data analytics.
